The Plains Camp at Rhino Walking Safaris offers an immersive glamping retreat surrounded by the wild beauty of the African bush, within the Kruger National Park. With only four tents, the camp ensures an intimate safari experience where guests can connect deeply with the African bush. Known for its eco-conscious approach, Plains Camp balances comfort and wilderness, allowing for a close encounter with nature while maintaining minimal environmental impact.
Each luxury tent is equipped with twin beds, a private bathroom with hot water and stunning views of the surrounding bush. The glamping tents are elevated on wooden decks, providing guests with safety and a vantage point from which to observe the wildlife. The small size of the camp ensures personalised service, with a maximum of eight guests, creating an exclusive and serene atmosphere.
Plains Camp is situated on the expansive and wildlife-rich Timbetene Plain within a 12,000-hectare wilderness concession in the Kruger National Park. This remote location, far from the tourist crowds, offers guests a true sense of isolation and immersion in nature. The camp overlooks active waterholes, frequently visited by a variety of wildlife, including elephants, buffalo and other members of the Big Five.
Guided walking safaris are the primary activity, allowing guests to track animals on foot and learn about the intricacies of the bush from experienced guides. The camp also offers exhilarating game drives, including night drives to observe nocturnal species. For a truly unique experience, guests can participate in a sleep-out under the stars at the exclusive Sleep-Out decks, offering a magical night immersed in the wilderness.
