Offbeat Mara Camp

Offbeat Mara is an intimate, traditional safari camp, situated within the 74,000 acre Mara North Conservancy. Their location is prime as it is a wildlife rich area, yet far from any other camps or lodges - it feels like a private piece of the Mara, an exclusive experience that is becoming hard to find. The camp maintains a homely feel as it consists of only 7 tents, all carefully positioned to accommodate incredible views and privacy. Guests can enjoy exploring the Mara on foot or by vehicle as well learning about the fascinating Maasai culture.

  • Small but perfect

Excellent guiding from Mooli - Rich in game and off-road driving gives optimum sightings - and not too many other vehicles.

  • Mara Magic!

Small, intimate and very welcoming, Offbeat Ndoto was everything we had hoped for. Set in a tranquil location within the Mara North Conservancy, it felt wonderfully private, yet with open views across the valley.

Offbeat Mara Camp impact highlights

Offbeat Safaris are one of the founding members of the Mara North Conservancy and committed to helping preserve this 74,000 acre piece of the Masaai Mara eco-system. They ensure that Maasai landlords are rewarded fairly and equally for protecting their land and the wildlife on it.  As a result, this area has improved dramatically as a wildlife conservancy, with long term benefits to those with the foresight to keep protecting it. Over 90% of the camp staff are local Masai who helped build the camp in 2005.  They now have jobs from guides to cooks, to room stewards and waiters...all gaining valuable skills to pass on to the next generation. Offbeat Mara is conscious that it operates in a fragile ecosystem.  As such the camp has no permanent structures and is purely canvas with some local rock and soil to level the base for the tents.
