Conservio Partnership Pledge

Conservio is dedicated to promoting responsible and sustainable travel in Africa. As a distribution channel, we encourage our supply partners to share our commitment to conservation, community development, and ethical business practices. This Supplier Partnership Pledge outlines the principles and standards that we encourage our partners to commit and pledge to adhere:

• 1. Conservation Commitment

Suppliers shall strive to allocate as much of their revenue as possible towards local community employment creation/salaries, conservation efforts or economic activities that directly benefit the local community and environment (local sourcing, suppliers etc).

• 2. Environmental Responsibility

Suppliers shall actively participate in environmental conservation efforts, including reducing waste, conserving energy, and implementing eco-friendly practices to minimise their environmental impact.

• 3. Community Engagement

Suppliers are encouraged to engage with the local communities in a responsible and respectful manner. This includes supporting community development initiatives, collaborating with local artisans and suppliers, and creating opportunities for community members to participate in and benefit from the lodge's activities i.e employment, supply chain etc.

• 4. Ethical Business Practices

Suppliers must conduct their business operations with the highest ethical standards. This includes fair and transparent pricing, honest marketing and advertising, and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

• 5. Fair Treatment of Employees

Suppliers should provide a safe and respectful work environment for their employees. Fair wages, reasonable working hours, and adherence to labour laws are expected.

• 6. Preservation of Cultural Heritage

Lodge owners should respect and preserve the cultural heritage of the communities where they operate. This includes protecting and promoting local traditions, art, and customs.

• 7. Collaboration with Conservio

Suppliers are encouraged to collaborate with Conservio in initiatives that promote responsible and sustainable tourism in Africa, including participating in conservation projects and community engagement programs.
