The Deckhouse at Kaaimans is a meticulously located self-catering retreat. This remarkable rustic vacation home forms an integral part of the esteemed Kaaimans River Lodge, accessible exclusively through a brief river crossing.
The Deckhouse (aka "Main House), is the largest of three accommodations of the Kaaimans River Lodge. The house was originally built in 1910, and has been maintained over the years to preserve its original rustic charm and connection with nature. The accommodation is basic, clean, comfortable, and unpretentious. As we like to say: It's not luxurious, but it has soul.
The outside area is spacious and includes multiple features: a large outdoor seated bbq area (ideal for a epic braai's or memorable social vibes around the fire), a sizeable indoor/ outdoor kitchen and multiple dining areas, an outside bar, outdoor shower area, table tennis & darts, and THREE BIG DECKS that offer breathtaking panoramic views of the river and surrounding mountains.
There are four private bedrooms downstairs and multiple single beds in a shared space upstairs. An additional bunk bed room is available for extra guests (though it lacks privacy). For cozy indoor gatherings, there is a large fireplace suitable for indoor BBQs, as well as a lounge area with a TV (DSTV can be activated upon request).
