Setting Description

Jack’s Camp sits along the rim of the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, one of the world’s largest salt flats. This remote environment has an extraordinary beauty shaped by shifting seasons. In the dry months, the landscape becomes a gleaming white expanse where the desert seems almost infinite. When summer rains arrive, the region transforms into grassy plains filled with migrating zebra, wildebeest and an impressive spread of birdlife, including large flocks of flamingos. Wildlife is uniquely adapted to the Kalahari environment.
