Accommodation Description

Duke’s Camp offers a refined safari-camp experience, with eight luxury canvas suites set on raised wooden decks beneath ebony and leadwood trees. Each tent is furnished in a vintage safari style with plush fabrics, Persian rugs, hand-carved four-poster beds, and brass fittings that evoke a classic era of exploration. En-suite bathrooms, indoor and outdoor shower options, and a private deck with leather campaign chairs make it easy to enjoy both comfort and immersion in nature. Communal areas bring a sense of old-world charm and conviviality: a lounge and dining tent furnished with antique furniture and crystal glassware, a shaded tea-tent, and a pool pavilion provide comfortable spaces to relax after a day of safari. Whether under a canopy of trees or around a dining table lit by lanterns, the atmosphere is unmistakably elegant yet rooted in wilderness tradition.

Setting Description

Tucked away on a private concession in the northern sector of the Okavango Delta, adjoining but distinct from the more frequented reserves, Duke’s Camp occupies a secluded island amid channels, floodplains and palm-fringed lagoons. The surrounding terrain combines woodland, lush grasslands and waterways, offering a rich mosaic of habitats where fauna thrives. Because the camp sits at the edge of permanent water and seasonal floodplains, wildlife congregates nearby throughout the year. Elephants, buffalo, plains game, predators and abundant birdlife move through the area, often visible from the camp deck or during short drives. When water levels are high, canoe (mokoro) trips and boat safaris allow exploration of the channels; when dry, grassy plains and woodland pathways open for game drives and walking safaris. The setting offers an intimate, immersive slice of the Delta’s wild heart.
