Accommodation Description
Mbamba offers 12 canvas safari tents (four doubles, six twins, and two family units), each nestled beneath mature leadwood trees on raised wooden decks. The tents feature air-conditioning, four-poster beds, en-suite bathrooms and private verandas — combining vintage safari character with comfort. The camp’s main area includes two comfortable lounges, a small library, a well-stocked bar, a pool, and a fire-pit for evenings under the stars. Dining is often communal, either around a shared table or beneath the open sky. The atmosphere evokes classic safaris, balanced with modern amenities and a relaxed, welcoming ambience.
Setting Description
Mbamba is located in the private NG12 concession in the northern Okavango Delta, where open grasslands, floodplains, forested islands and seasonal lagoons converge. Here, the waters of the Okavango begin to fan out, creating a patchwork of ecosystems that support abundant wildlife year-round. The area is known for a strong presence of predators, including lions and African wild dogs, as well as large herds of elephants, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, and a variety of antelope species. Waterbirds, rare wetland species, and dense birdlife thrive among the wetlands, woodlands, and plains. The camp’s remote, unfenced setting invites wildlife to wander freely, offering immersive encounters in a landscape that shifts with flood and dry season rhythms.
