Accommodation Description

The chalets and rondawels at Limpopo River Lodge offer relaxed, self-catering accommodation on the banks of the Limpopo River. The two river-facing chalets each sleep two guests - Chalet 3 with twin beds and Chalet 4 with a double bed – and share an interleading bathroom fitted with a shower. Overhead fans and mosquito nets ensure comfort during warmer months.

In addition, the lodge offers traditional rondawels, each sleeping two guests in either twin or double configurations. The rondawels share communal ablution facilities and are positioned close to the central amenities, making them a practical and affordable option for couples or friends travelling together.

A separate thatched kitchen-and-bar area is fully equipped for self-catering, and a river-facing boma braai area provides the perfect setting for open-fire cooking. Lodge units are serviced daily, and guests have access to the swimming pool.

Setting Description

Limpopo River Lodge lies within Botswana’s Tuli Block, a 9,000-hectare private reserve characterised by mopane woodland, baobabs and rocky outcrops. Positioned along the seasonal Limpopo River, the lodge offers direct access to riverine habitats that attract a variety of plains game and prolific birdlife.

The property is approximately 15 km from the Platjan border post, making it easily accessible for self-drive travellers entering Botswana from South Africa. Guests can explore the reserve’s network of tracks at their own pace, enjoying sightings of wildlife in an uncrowded setting. Birding is particularly rewarding along the riverbank, and evenings are marked by expansive night skies and the sounds of the bush. For those seeking a guided safari experience, a fully catered option is available, including two professionally guided game drives per day within the reserve.
