Accommodation Description
Chui Lodge comprises eight individual, en-suite cottages set within beautifully maintained gardens inside the private Oserengoni Wildlife Sanctuary. Guests choose between five Standard and three Deluxe bandas - each offering handcrafted olive-wood four-poster king-size beds, roaring log-fire fireplaces, and tea/coffee stations with mini-bars replenished daily.
Deluxe bandas offer a separate lounge area (some with a sofa bed) and larger bathrooms; all cottages enjoy private verandas that open onto views of the Rift Valley escarpment, sanctuary waterhole, or lush garden pond. Bathrooms combine a walk-in shower with tasteful finishes, and the décor throughout, including sculpted wood furniture, African artworks, and natural stone, reflects the sanctuary’s rustic, handcrafted character.
Setting Description
Set within the 18,000-acre Oserengoni Wildlife Sanctuary above the shores of Lake Naivasha, the lodge offers seclusion and nature-immersive surroundings while remaining accessible from Nairobi (about a 2–2.5 hour drive, or via charter to nearby airstrip). The lodge’s central areas - dining room, lounge, and bar are crafted from local bush stone, olive and acacia wood, with ochre-coloured walls and African-carved murals evoking an art-gallery atmosphere.
Paths through the garden lead to a heated swimming pool that overlooks a waterhole, where guests often watch giraffes and other wildlife come to drink. Under acacia trees, meals are served - from poolside lunches to candlelit dinners under the African night sky. The sanctuary hosts abundant wildlife and offers an atmosphere of calm, privacy and bush charm, all while providing comfortable amenities and refined hospitality.
