Stayed at: Zona Braza Beach Lodge
Relaxing beach lodge!
Cabins are very nice…a lot of work and love was put in…perfect if you just want to relax and enjoy long beach walks.
Conservio is dedicated to promoting travel that celebrates nature.
The lodge offers 13 self-catering units ranging from cosy double/twin rooms to villas accommodating up to eight guests. Each unit features a well-equipped kitchen, linen, mosquito nets, fans, and daily housekeeping. Many units enjoy ocean or garden views. Built with cement and finished with reed detailing, interiors stay naturally cool. The standout “Whale of a Time” villa includes an open-plan kitchen with a built-in braai, a lounge area, and multiple bedrooms with en‑suite or loft bathrooms, ideal for family or group stays. The property includes a la carte restaurant, beach bar and pool areas, creating a relaxed yet sociable atmosphere. Guests enjoy complimentary parking, cell reception (Vodacom & Movitel), and Wi‑Fi in public areas.
Located just 100 m from the Indian Ocean, Zona Braza sits atop a coastal forest dune between a freshwater lake behind and the ocean in front. The stretch of white sand meets a rocky reef with tide pools ideal for snorkeling and safe swimming. On-site, there are three elevated pool decks, a beach bar right on the sand, landscaped gardens and a curio shop. The elevated decks and vantage points offer excellent whale‑watching in the winter months (June–August). The area is rich in birdlife, with over 100 identified species, and fishing, snorkeling, or beach walks start from the lodge itself. The location is remote yet accessible by any standard car, approximately 250 km from Maputo and 380 km from Komatipoort border.
-Prime beachfront setting with reef snorkelling & whale watching from the pool decks
-Genuine self-catering independence paired with an excellent on-site seafood restaurant & beach bar
-Multiple pools & social spaces across different levels, perfect for families & groups
-Birding opportunities right at the freshwater lake and ocean interface
