Accommodation Description
Tsumkwe Country Lodge Campsite offers a comfortable, no-frills camping experience in the remote town of Tsumkwe—gateway to Bushmanland and the Nyae Nyae Conservancy. Ideal for overlanders, self-drive explorers, and travellers en route to the Khaudum National Park, the campsite provides a safe and shaded stopover with all the essentials.
There are eight spacious campsites, each shaded by large trees and laid out with plenty of space for vehicles, tents or roof tents. Each site features an electric power point, tap water, a braai stand, and easy access to clean communal ablutions with hot showers and flushing toilets. Firewood is available for purchase. The lodge's main area is within walking distance and offers a restaurant and bar that campers are welcome to use. Whether you're resting up before heading deeper into the bush or simply exploring the rich cultural and wildlife heritage of Bushmanland, Tsumkwe Country Lodge Campsite provides a convenient and welcoming base.
Setting Description
Located in the heart of Namibia’s Bushmanland, the campsite is surrounded by Kalahari woodland and local villages. Guests can visit nearby San communities, discover ancient rock engravings, or continue toward the wild expanse of Khaudum National Park. The area is known for its raw beauty, remoteness, and unique cultural significance.

Tsumkwe Country Lodge is the only accommodation facility on the Namibian side of this area that offers 22 well-appointed chalets with ensuite facilities in a rustic but, yet comfortable style. The 10 individual campsites are clean and have electricity and water points. Bundles of firewood are available to buy at the lodge.
There are a variety of San village activities guests can book through the lodge. Kindly enquire about them via your booking process.
Other attractions in the area are the Nyae Nyae Pans with prolific birdlife, especially during the wet season. Giant Baobab trees in the area and the Khaudum National Park for day visits on a self-drive basis or camping in the Khaudum Park.

How to get there
Tsumkwe Country Lodge is located in Tsumkwe in the north east of Namibia .To get to Tsumkwe drive northwards from Grootfontein on the B8 .After 55km, you wil find the turnoff to Tsumkwe The C44. This is a gravel road in good condition and you will enter Tsumkwe after about 225km and 3 hours. The road can be travelled with any kind of vehicle, but to explore the area, a 4x4 vehicle will be needed. Fuel is available in Tsumkwe. There is a good gravel airfield 10km west of Tsumkwe village.
