Accommodation Description


Gondwana Palmwag Lodge offers a tranquil oasis surrounded by the rugged landscapes of Damaraland, between Kaokoland and the Skeleton Coast in northern Namibia. The lodge is a haven for nature lovers, offering an ideal base for exploring the region's dramatic scenery and diverse wildlife.


The lodge features a collection of comfortable chalets and luxury tents designed to blend with the natural surroundings. Each unit provides an inviting retreat with en-suite bathrooms and scenic views, perfect for relaxation after a day of adventure.


Setting Description 


Located in the heart of a private concession in north-west Namibia, the lodge is surrounded by rocky hills, wide-open plains, and a striking desert landscape. It offers breathtaking vistas and opportunities to encounter wildlife, including desert-adapted elephants and other unique species.


Guests can enjoy guided nature walks, game drives and birdwatching excursions. Relax by the pool, indulge in stargazing, or explore the nearby landscapes, including the Palmwag Concession and ancient volcanic formation – to name a few!

Amazing – such a special place! Lovely pool that I didn't get to swim in as I was too busy photographing elephants! Delicious food. Very clean, great service, comfortable beds.

The lodge is well signposted on the C39, Kunene, 9000

How to get there

Palmwag Lodge can be found on the C43. From the south (central area) follow the signs to Khorixas, then follow the C39, the lodge is well signposted from here. From the coastal region follow the C34 towards Torra Bay, then turn right on the C39 to the intersection and follow the C43 in a northernly direction, the lodge is well signposted from here. From the north, follow the C43 south from Sesfontein or from Kamanjab C40, where you will have a tjunction that meets the C43. The lodge is well signposted from here. Kindly note that most of these roads are gravel roads. A vehicle with high clearance is preferable.
