Everything Amazing
Absolutely spectacular setting - this camp is very unique. Staff were outstanding. Food was good, not great. Rooms closer together than expected - recommend requesting a room far away from the generator and mess tent. This is a really special place
Perfect!
Just amazing! The Hoanib valley is clearly one of the best kept secrets in Namibia. Worth spending three nights! Also possible to drive to the Camp with your own 4x4 vehicle and being escorted over to their sister camp Shipwreck Lodge at the Skeleton Coast.
Hoanib Valley Camp impact highlights
Hoanib Valley Camp is a joint venture between local communities and the Giraffe Conservation Foundation. The camp was established to ensure low impact on the surrounding natural environemnt and leave almost no footprint on this fragile eco-system. The camp is entirely solar powered to make sure that carbon emissions are kept to a minimum, and the infrastructure is made of recycled materials. Most importantly, benefits in the form of profit share flow to local communities.
