Fish River Lodge

Fish River Lodge is located in Fish River Canyon, one of Namibia's tourist attractions. The destination is ideal for people looking for serenity and adventure while on a getaway. The stylish design and decorations of the lodge were inspired by its surrounding. Dry stone walls, tall windows and wrap around decks give guests proper views of the canyon.

The lodge has a pool for guests to enjoy themselves during hot summer months while enjoying the clear views if the canyon. The main area has fireplaces to give guests the warm and homely feeling in winter.  There's enough space outside each chalet for outdoor yoga and clerestory windows frame a myriad stars at night.

The Fish River Canyon is one of the best hiking destinations. Guests get to explore the Fish River and meandering paths on the rim of the canyon. The lodge has a number of adventure activities, guided and unguided. These include hiking, cycling and canyon drives to experience the beauty, the grandeur and the serenity of Fish River Lodge.

  • Lovely Lodge on the Canyon Rim

Good place to experience the Fish River Canyon - spectacular views, beautiful rim edge walks, especially at sunset or sunrise with the stunning quiver trees and the Canyon in the soft light. We did the canyon drive - very slow and bumpy, but a good experience and also had a lovely swim at the bottom in the rock pools review

  • Incredible Property in a great location

This place is nothing short of amazing - panoramic views of Fish River Gorge from your bed, beautifully-designed rooms, and great food. This property is in the middle of nowhere, but don't let that deter you - the roads are well signed and in good condition, and you travel through some spectacularly rugged country. review

  • Amazing Stay

We were lucky to visit this exquisite lodge. Called in the morning and had a confirmed booking for three couples. The rates were fantastic and we had an added Game drive down into the canyon on our stay. The food was tasty and well presented. Thank you to the amazing staff and for the earplugs as the wind can really get noisy at night review

Fish River Lodge impact highlights

The 45,000 hectare Canyon Nature Park is a haven for Karoo succulent flora where the Aloe dichotoma, locally known as Kokerboom, stands sentinel and wildlife, including the rare Hartman’s zebra, oryx antelope and ostriches, appear and disappear in the rocky side canyons. To preserve this amazing part of Namibia, Canyon Nature Park has joined the partnership of the Greater Fish River Canyon Complex, a trans boundary collaboration between parks and conservation agencies and private landowners in the Richtersveld (South Africa), the Huns mountains and /Ais /Ais Game Park, Namibia. The collaboration focuses on a broad-based approach to conservation and sustainable natural resource management and socio-economic development.
