Each chalet provides an en-suite shower, air-conditioning or heating, tea and coffee station, hairdryer, safe, and a shaded veranda overlooking the rocky desert surrounds. The chalets are designed for comfort after long days of exploring the canyon, with twin-bed and triple-bed options available, plus a small number of inter-leading and accessible units.
The main lodge features a restaurant, bar, lounge and a cold-water swimming pool built against the boulders, creating a relaxed breakaway space. With its rugged landscape, warm service and close proximity to the Fish River Canyon, the lodge is an appealing base for travellers seeking both scenic immersion and convenient facilities.
Setting Description
Located inside the vast 1 160 km² Gondwana Canyon Park, the lodge lies just 16 km from the Fish River Canyon’s main viewpoint. The landscape is shaped by boulder-strewn hillsides, quiver trees and wide desert plains that seem to vanish into the horizon. Canyon Village blends into this dramatic environment, with the main building positioned against natural rock formations and colourful desert flora. The setting encourages guests to spend time outdoors: morning and sunset excursions offer expansive views across the canyon floor, while self-guided trails provide opportunities to explore the geology and plant life at a personal pace. Evenings bring striking skies and stillness, making the lodge a peaceful pause point between day trips.
