Iyana on Stones Hill offers a serene retreat nestled on the slopes of Stone’s Hill, just five minutes from the vibrant centre of Makhanda. This charming guesthouse blends comfort and South African hospitality, providing guests with breathtaking valley views extending to Kenton-on-Sea on clear days. The property features four individually decorated rooms: Luxury King Room: Designed for two adults, this room boasts a bay window sitting area with panoramic valley views. The private bathroom includes a dressing room, his-and-hers showers and vanities, and a bathtub overlooking the valley through a one-way window, combining privacy with stunning scenery; Classic Double Room: Offers a cozy bay window sitting area with stunning valley views and an en-suite bathroom equipped with a modern shower; Double Rooms with Shared Bathroom: Each contains a double bed fitted with an electric blanket and access to a shared, spacious bathroom with both a bathtub and a shower.
All rooms are equipped with ceiling fans, heaters, TVs with streaming apps (guests log in with their own credentials), and free Wi-Fi access. Extra blankets and heaters are provided during winter months. The guesthouse ensures uninterrupted power supply with an inverter system and generator during loadshedding, and maintains a consistent water supply through a spring water borehole and rainwater tanks.

From Chief Dawid Stuurman International Airport:
1. Head north on Airport W Rd to exit the airport.
2. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Allister Miller Dr.
3. Go through 1 roundabout and drive 1.4 km.
4. Turn left onto Forest Hill N/B Rd and drive 850 m.
5. Use the left lane to turn right onto Walmer Blvd/M9 and drive 600 m.
6. Use the left 2 lanes to turn left onto the M4 (signs for R75/Makhanda (Grahamstown)/Uitenhage) and drive 6.8 km.
7. Use the right 2 lanes to take exit 751B to merge onto the N2 towards Makhanda (Grahamstown) and drive 45.5 km
8. Use the left lane to take the N2 ramp to Makhanda (Grahamstown) and drive 1.6 km.
9. Continue onto the N2 for 74.0 km.
10. Take the R67 exit towards Makhanda (Grahamstown)/Business Centre/Port Alfred and drive 400 m.
10. Turn right onto the R67 and drive 3.3 km.
11. Turn right into the entrance of Iyana on Stones Hill and drive 150 m to the main building. Your destination will be at 46 Stones Hill, Makhanda.
From Port Alfred:
1. Travelling on the R67 towards Grahamstown / Makhanda, Stone’s Hill lies about 5 km before reaching town.
2. Find us on the left as you enter the Stone’s Hill community.
From East London:
1. From the N2, take exit 872 to Makhanda (Grahamstown)/Business Centre/R67 Port Alfred into Makhanda (Grahamstown).
2. At the stop street, turn left.
3 Follow the R67 to Stone’s Hill.
4 Find us on the right, at number 46, opposite Applecross Farm.
From Bedford
1. Travelling along the R350 towards Makhanda (Grahamstown), look for a turn on the right after the Riding Club and Army base, before you reach the town.
2. At a sign reading, The Department of Roads and Transport, turn right.
3. Turn immediately left onto Strowan Rd.
4. Turn right onto Rautenbach Rd.
5. Continue for 2.9 km
6. Turn left onto N2 towards Makhanda (Grahamstown).
7. Take the exit to Makhanda (Grahamstown)/Business Centre/R67/Port Alfred into Makhanda (Grahamstown) (go past the 1820 Settlers turnoff and the Main Grahamstown exit).
8. At the stop sign, turn right.
9. Follow the R67 to Stone’s Hill.
10. Find us on the right, at number 46, opposite Applecross Farm.
