The Nqabara area is pristine, one of the few places along the Wild Coast that has not been developed. It is designated “environmentally sensitive” and the Nqabara community proudly treasure this status. The people of the area are determined to preserve the beauty and natural heritage that they know is their greatest asset.
Though not completely isolated, the lodge is at least 3km from the nearest village homesteads. Nqabara Eco River Lodge is the perfect getaway for the leisure tourist, the volunteer traveller, a team-building experience, or for conferencing with a difference. How to get there
GETTING THERE
Nqabara Eco River Lodge is located in the administrative area of Nqabara, in the Mbashe local municipality in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa.
The Lodge lies about 3.5 hours drive north of East London and is 8,5 hours from Durban, or 2 hours south east of Mthatha. It is 50km east of the town of Willowvale on the Dwesa road.
DIRECTIONS
Drive to Idutywa. At the yellow Lucky Star Supermarket building, turn on the R408 to Willovale.
After 30 km turn LEFT to Dwesa, a small dirt Road opposite the Caltex Garage. If you get to a sign that says Kob Inn, you have missed the Dwesa turn off.
After 16km at the Tjunction turn RIGHT, and travel for a further 16 km where you will see a Nqabara Eco River Lodge sign turn RIGHT.
After 7 km you will see a soccer field on your right. Continue until you see Nqabara General Dealer, keep LEFT on the road for 3 km to the Lodge.
