The cottages at Pabala Private Nature Reserve offer a relaxed, country-style escape surrounded by fynbos, farmland, and mountains. Ideal for couples, families, or small groups, these self-catering farm cottages provide a cosy and comfortable stay with modern amenities in a peaceful natural setting.
Each cottage is fully furnished and includes a lounge, well-equipped kitchen, dining area, and a patio with sweeping views across the valley. The cottages range in size to accommodate two to six guests and feature en-suite or shared bathrooms depending on the unit. Outdoor braai areas and fire pits add to the charm, making it easy to enjoy evenings under the stars. Positioned away from the more rustic bush camp, the cottages provide a softer, more homely alternative while still offering easy access to the reserve’s hiking trails and activities.
Setting Description
Set within a private reserve just outside Hankey in the Eastern Cape, the farm cottages enjoy panoramic views of the Gamtoos Valley and surrounding fynbos-covered hills. The reserve is a working game and flower farm, and guests can spot wildlife from their verandas or while walking the scenic trails. The setting is peaceful and family-friendly, with the opportunity to explore nature at your own pace, while being within easy reach of Jeffreys Bay and Baviaanskloof.
