Accommodation Description

The Stoke House in Clarens offers self-catering accommodation made up of the Main Stoke House plus two suites, Tippie and Tomac. Book the full house for a group gathering of up to eight guests, or reserve the suites and main house separately for couples, friends or a family. The main house has two bedrooms sharing a full bathroom with bath and shower, and an open-plan living area with a chef’s kitchen, wood-burning fireplace and doors leading to a patio with built-in braai. Tippie and Tomac are self-contained suites, each with an open-plan bedroom and sitting area, en-suite shower bathroom, kitchenette and private patio with braai. All units include linen, electric blankets, panel heaters and load-shedding-friendly touches such as gas cooking, emergency lights and candles. Free Wi-Fi and Netflix keep evenings relaxed after days on Clarens trails, galleries and restaurants.

Setting Description

The Stoke House sits on Main Street in Clarens, within easy walking distance of the village square, cafés and galleries yet close to the Clarens Village Conservancy trails. From the gate you can step onto well-marked walking, running and mountain-biking routes that wander through sandstone outcrops, streams and grassland. Golden Gate Highlands National Park lies about twenty kilometres away, adding longer hikes, game viewing and dramatic scenery. Active travellers can book white-water rafting, abseiling, quad biking and other adventures with Clarens Xtreme, go fly fishing on nearby farms, or explore by road or gravel bike. Gentler days might mean hot-air ballooning, a round at Clarens Golf and Leisure Estate or tasting sessions at Clarens Brewery.
