Alkira Lodge offers a range of accommodation options suited to all tastes and occasions, including six private suites within the main lodge, a separate two-bedroom Lakeview Apartment, and the exclusive three-bedroom Shufflers Villa (all available to be booked out as one offering an exclusive experience). The lodge also features a view-drenched infinity pool, Jacuzzi, fire pit, tanning deck with sun loungers, and spacious living/dining areas from which to enjoy drinks and delicious prepared meals.
Alkira Lodge is set within a private nature conservancy along the Garden Route region of South Africa, offering abundant birdlife, shy antelope, and even endangered butterflies. From Cape Town and George
Take the N2 towards Port Elizabeth
Pass the town of Sedgefield and as you wind down the long hill towards Knysna turn left at the bottom of the hill towards Brenton and Belvidere BEFORE you begin to cross the lagoon bridge.
Follow the bend to the right signposted Brenton and Belvidere and pass beneath the N2.
Travel 10 kilometres past Belvidere, past Brenton on Lake and continue towards Brenton on Sea.
As you enter Brenton on Sea and the road begins a sharp curve to the right turn left onto WK Groblaar.
Travel 1km up WK Grobler.
Just before the road turns to gravel turn LEFT onto a gravel road market private.
Travel 700metres keeping left until the end of the gravel road.
Alkira is the last property on the RIGHT.
Enter the gates and drive all the way to the end of the drive where you will find parking. If the gate is closed please phone +27 (0)83 5526259.
The Lodge is on your right down the garden path towards the Lagoon.
From Port Elizabeth and Plettenberg Bay:
Take the N2 towards George and Cape Town
Travel through the town of Knysna and continue around the lagoon (on your left).
Cross over the bridge and turn right at the first road (singposted Brenton and Belvidere)
Follow the bend to the right signposted Brenton and Belvidere and pass beneath the N2.
Travel past Belvidere, past Brenton on Lake and continue towards Brenton on Sea.
As you enter Brenton on Sea and the road begins a sharp curve to the right turn left onto WK Groblaar.
Drive to the top of WK Groblaar.
Just before the road turns to gravel turn LEFT onto a private gravel road.
Travel 700metres to the end of the gravel road keeping left when the road forks.
Alkira is the last property on the RIGHT.
Enter the gates and drive all the way to the end of the driveway where you will find parking. The lodge is on the right.
Yes, we have tour guides that work with us tailoring tours (cycle, boat, nature walks, bird watching, kayak) to individual requests. It is necessary to book in advance to avoid disappointment. An extra fee applies. Contact us with your request so that we can advise availability and rates.
For guests who take exclusive use of Alkira Lodge or Shufflers Villa (ie they book the accommodation for their private use) children of all ages are welcome. This is on acceptance of risk and acknowledgement that the pool and jacuzzi are exposed and some balconies have steep drop-offs.
The Lodge has a policy of no children under the age of 12 if guests are not taking exclusive use
We have a booking policy of a minimum length of stay of 2 consecutive nights. We do make exceptions for 1 night stay but usually only within 7 days of your requested dates.
