Accommodation Description

Essea House is a contemporary two-bedroom self-catering home on a working olive and horse estate just above Wilderness. Inside, a generous open-plan living area flows to a covered terrace with garden views, ideal for long, easy meals outdoors. Both bedrooms have comfortable queen or king beds and en-suite bathrooms with walk-in showers, giving couples or friends plenty of privacy. The kitchen is fully equipped with gas hob, oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, dishwasher, and all the essentials for proper cooking, plus a breakfast bar for casual dining. A smart TV with streaming, fast Wi-Fi, and a dedicated desk make remote work straightforward. Guests also have a washing machine, secure on-site parking and heating for cooler evenings. Outside, a braai area, outdoor fireplace, pool towels and access to a pool with lovely views round off the stay.

Setting Description

The house sits on a peaceful rural smallholding in Hoekwil, surrounded by olive trees and horse paddocks, with big skies and a sense of space. You’re a short drive from the beaches and lagoons of the Garden Route, as well as the rivers, forests and birdlife of the Wilderness section of Garden Route National Park. Scenic walking and running routes start from the door, and the estate’s elevated position gives a lovely outlook across farmland towards distant hills. Lakes Area National Park, George Golf Club and George Airport are all within comfortable driving distance, making Essea House an easy base for exploring the wider region or connecting with flights. After a day of canoeing, hiking or beach time, guests return to a calm countryside setting with starry skies and the soft sounds of the farm.
