Perfect safari experience

The Reserve was perfect. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. There was a variety of food choices on the menu and it was delicious. The rangers were kind, knowledgeable and very personable! Our experience was wonderful!

How to get there

From Cape Town Distance: approximately 380kms, 4 hours: Exit the city onto the N2 highway. Travel on the N2 highway towards George/Mossel Bay (300+kms) – you will be on the N2 for the majority of the trip. As you approach the Mossel Bay area do not turn at the first Herbertsdale road sign on the N2, but continue until you reach the R327 road sign towards Herbertsdale / Mossdustria. Here you will turn LEFT. Travel on this road for 14.5kms – cross over the railway line and stay on the road. Turn RIGHT at the Gondwana Game Reserve road sign (large brown sign). (This road becomes a dirt road after the cattle grid therefore we recommend that our Guests drive slowly if in a low to the ground 2×4 vehicle.) Continue straight over the cattle grid and keep RIGHT at the fork on the dirt road. The Main Gondwana entrance gate will be on this road (3.2km from the fork). Please report to security at the Main Gondwana entrance gatehouse for further directions to your accommodation. Please be respectful of the speed limit within the reserve and please be aware that our animals have right of way. From George Airport Distance: Approximately 75 kms, 45 minutes: Follow this road until you reach the turnoff for the N2 highway to Mossel Bay. Turn onto the N2 highway towards Mossel Bay. Continue on the N2 bypassing Mossel Bay towards Cape Town. You will pass the Engen One Stop (on your left) and the Total Fuel Station (on your right). Approximately 200m from the Total Fuel Station, turn right on to the R327 to Herbertsdale / Mossdustria. Travel on this road for 14.5kms – cross over the railway line and stay on the road. Turn RIGHT at the Gondwana Game Reserve road sign (large brown sign).
