Setting Description
Located in the quaint seaside town of Wilderness in South Africa, just a 4.5-hour drive from Cape Town, Reflections Eco-Reserve is positioned along the shores of Rondevlei and is enveloped by the Garden Route National Park. The unique location offers easy access to a diverse range of natural attractions, including pristine beaches, lush forests, majestic mountains, exceptional birdwatching opportunities, and picturesque hiking trails — all within reach from the reserve.
Rondevlei is a vital component of a network of estuarine lakes that contribute significantly to the Garden Route's reputation as South Africa's premier holiday destination. As a designated Ramsar site, there are restrictions on boating and fishing, ensuring a serene and undisturbed environment teeming with incredible birdlife. In addition to the nesting resident Fish Eagles, our reserve proudly hosts around 140 bird species, as well as indigenous wildlife such as Cape clawless otters, water mongooses, caracals, bushpigs, grysboks, and grey duikers.
