Zeekoegat Historical Homestead, dating back to 1795, offers authentic farm-style accommodation on a tranquil working farm in the Western Cape. Tucked among the foothills of the Langeberg mountain range in Riversdale, it provides an ideal retreat for guests seeking a break from city life.
The majestic self-catering homestead is divided into a large upstairs area, sleeping four guests and one small child, and a separate unit with an outside entrance for two extra guests. The homestead features a bathroom with a bath and a shower, a lounge, a dining area, a well-equipped kitchen, and a fireplace, as well as a fully-equpped kitchen for self-catering ease.
Zeekoegat Historical Homestead Setting
This 1700s Cape Dutch homestead has been lovingly restored into a stylish yet cosy escpe. There is a large collection of domestic animals, including poultry, pigs, horses, cows, dogs and cats, and the owners are dedicated to their land conservation – sharing their little piece of paradise with like-minded guests.
The guesthouse is situated in a farming community, a short drive from the quaint town of Riversdale host to a selection of shops and cafés. The area features spectacular scenery with opportunities for hiking, cycling and exploring mountain rock pools. Nearby attractions include wine and gin tasting, as well as short day trips to coastal towns such as Stilbaai and Jongensfontein.
