Imbabali Retreat & Venue is a peaceful countryside escape nestled at the foot of the Magaliesberg Mountains. Just an hour from Johannesburg or Pretoria, this retreat offers a variety of self-catering options, including three cosy cottages, the Wild Olive Chalet, and the spacious Grapevine House – ideal for romantic breaks, family holidays, and small group getaways.
Each of the three cottages sleeps up to five guests and features two bedrooms, a bathroom, a lounge, and a kitchenette with essential appliances. Private patios, braai areas, and splash pools add to the appeal of these tranquil units.
The Wild Olive Chalet sleeps four guests and offers two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a fireplace-warmed lounge, and a fully equipped kitchen. The Grapevine House is a double-storey home sleeping eight across four bedrooms and three bathrooms (two en-suite), with an open-plan kitchen, lounge, and dining area – perfect for group stays. All accommodations are serviced daily and guests have access to an on-site restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The retreat is pet-friendly for socialised dogs and offers a wide range of nature-based activities for all ages.
Surrounded by open landscapes and indigenous bush, Imbabali Retreat is set in the scenic Magaliesberg region. With views of the surrounding mountains, tranquil dams, and beautifully kept gardens, the property is ideal for those seeking peace and connection with nature. From Magaliesburg (Approx. 14 km)
Head north on Rustenburg Road (R24) for 6.2 km.
Turn right onto R560 and travel for 7.8 km.
Turn left at the sign PLOT RH27 – IMBABALI RETREAT & VENUE.
You will arrive at our top gate. From there, follow the COTTAGE signs on a 350meter gravel road (suitable for all vehicles) to your accommodation.
From Cradlestone Mall (Approx. 38 km)
At the Cradlestone Mall intersection, from the N14 Highway, turn right at the Sasol Garage (which will be on your left).
Continue straight, passing Pine Haven Hospital on your left.
Travel along the N14 until you reach a Tjunction, then turn right onto the R563.
Pass the Engen Garage on your left and keep right as the road splits.
Travel for about 22 km along this road until you reach another Tjunction.
Turn left onto the R560 and travel for about 4.8 km.
Look for the signage PLOT RH27 – IMBABALI RETREAT & VENUE on either side of our fence.
Once you are through the top gate, follow the COTTAGE signs for 350 meters of gravel road to your accommodation.
From Hartbeespoort (Approx. 35 km)
At the 4way stop intersection in Hartebeespoort, turn onto the R560.
Pass the Engen Garage on your left and head towards Hekpoort/Magaliesburg.
Travel for 35 km along the R560, and look for the signage PLOT RH27 – IMBABALI RETREAT & VENUE on either side of the fence.
After entering the top gate, follow the COTTAGE signs on the 350meter gravel road to your accommodation.
