About The Leadwood Safari Company

Leadwood Safari Camp is a unique, immersive glamping retreat situated in the centre of the Dinokeng Big 5 Game Reserve just an hour from the bustling city of Johannesburg. Offering the perfect getaway from everyday life, Leadwood Safari Company features a selection of luxury bell tents that redefine a connection with nature. These self-catering tents provide a cosy, private retreat, while a communal dining and lapa area welcomes guests to unwind and feel at home. Firewood is provided for a traditional braai or a lovely evening around the fire.

The spacious 5m x 5m bell tents are thoughtfully designed for a peaceful retreat in the heart of nature, where guests have the choice of king-size or twin beds, making them perfect for couples, friends, or small families. In addition, special arrangements can be made for two children under the age of 12 to share the same tent. Indulge in the tranquillity of private, wood-fired 'geyser '-powered hot showers, where you can admire the wilderness around you. Each bell tent also features a standalone bathroom with a flushing toilet, shower, and locally sourced stone basin, ensuring both privacy and breathtaking bush views.

For those seeking a more intimate experience, the newly launched private Camplet awaits among the trees. Tailored for couples, small families, or solo travellers, it offers all the luxuries of the main camp while enhancing your connection to nature. A small tented kitchenette allows you to prepare meals under the stars, and the private standalone bathroom features a wood-fired geyser for hot showers or a luxurious bath with a bushveld view. Additional amenities include an open-air hot tub, outdoor braai area, and fire pit.

The best glamping experience ever!

I loved everything about this place. Has a sense of peace around it. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. I was worried about security and I must say am impressed, the camp is surrounded by electric fence so you can sit outside and night without fear. Also loved the shower outside. This place is perfect

A Truly unique stay

From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by how absolutely stunning and serene the camp was. The tents were beautiful and functional and the outdoor shower was such a treat! We can not commend the friendly service enough and felt so spoiled each morning with the hot water and milk for coffee being delivered to the tents, another special touch was the boma fires being lit each evening. Thank you so much to the entire team for making it a beautiful stay!
