Accommodation Description

Karoo Gariep Tented Camp offers a rustic yet comfortable glamping experience within the Karoo Gariep Nature Reserve. Situated in the garden of New Holme Guest Farm, each of the two tents accommodates up to four guests, featuring a double bed and two single beds in separate compartments. The tents are equipped with linens, towels, electric blankets for winter, pedestal fans, and tea/coffee-making facilities. Private ablution facilities are located approximately 30 metres from the tents. Guests have access to all amenities at New Holme, including the swimming pool, restaurant, and bar.

Setting Description

Located 8 km off the N1 between Colesberg and Hanover, the Karoo Gariep Tented Camp is nestled within the 8,000-hectare Karoo Gariep Nature Reserve. The reserve is home to the only hippos in the Northern Cape and boasts over 205 bird species. Guests can enjoy activities such as birdwatching, night drives, and guided walks to view KhoiSan rock etchings. The tranquil setting offers a peaceful retreat halfway between Cape Town and Johannesburg.
