This 8,000-hectare reserve is home to diverse wildlife, including the only hippos in the Karoo. Guests can embark on guided night drives to spot the elusive 'Shy 5'—meerkat, aardvark, porcupine, aardwolf, and bat-eared fox—or enjoy birdwatching and nature walks during the day.

The lodge's location, 8 km off the N1 between Hanover and Colesberg, makes it a convenient halfway point between Cape Town and Johannesburg. The surrounding area offers opportunities for mountain biking, fishing, and exploring KhoiSan rock etchings.
