Accommodation Description

Chacma Bush Camp is an intimate safari lodge situated in the lesser-known Maseke Game Reserve in the Greater Kruger, offering an authentic wildlife retreat without the crowds. The reserve offers the ideal Big Five safari experience in 8000 hectares of varying landscapes, dotted with visible rock formations and sweeping vistas. With a waterhole right in front of the elevated deck that is favoured by the local elephant herds, Chacma Bush Camp is perfect for a spot of game viewing while relaxing with a cocktail on the pool loungers.

The camp accommodates up to 10 people in just three stone thatched chalets, offering all guests a customised safari experience. The main area has an outdoor boma area next to the swimming pool, and a homely dining area that offers a view of the waterhole. Meals are always a highlight at Chacma Bush Camp, and the menu has a variety of traditional food combined with a flair for the modern.

Setting Description

The Olifants River coursing through the region, together with the abundant caves and outcrops, provides a diverse landscape for game drives in South Africa safari country. Guests will explore this unique section of the Kruger on expertly guided game drives, which take place twice daily. During game drives, guests will stop for coffee and snacks in the morning, and evening game drives will involve a sundowner stop with expansive views.

Chacma Bush Camp's perimeter is hugged by Mopane woodlands — a major drawcard for a wealth of wildlife. Bushbuck, kudu and plains game are commonly spotted in these woodlands, and can be viewed from the comfort of the deck area surrounding the sparkling swimming pool. Chacma’s main highlight is its small waterhole in front of camp, which is frequented by elephants during the drier winter months.
