Accommodation Description
The Lazy Leopard Lodge is a luxurious self-catering retreat nestled within the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate. Designed for exclusive use, the lodge accommodates up to 10 guests across four en-suite bedrooms and a spacious loft area. Each bedroom is thoughtfully themed after local bird species—Hornbill, King Fisher, Hoopoe, and Lourie—offering unique decor and ambiance. The loft provides additional sleeping arrangements and a cozy lounge space. The lodge boasts an open-plan living area with a fully equipped kitchen, indoor and outdoor dining spaces, and multiple lounges. Guests can unwind on the pool deck, enjoy the boma with braai facilities, or explore the estate's walking and cycling trails. Modern amenities, including air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and a backup power system, ensure a comfortable stay.
Setting Description
Situated in the heart of the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate, the lodge offers a serene bushveld experience with the convenience of nearby town amenities. The estate is home to various plains game, and the absence of large predators allows for safe exploration on foot or by bicycle. Guests can enjoy birdwatching at the estate's dams, relax in the lush garden, or take in the mountain views from the viewing deck.

The Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate is home to a variety of plains game, with regular sightings of our resident leopards. The absence of elephants, buffalos, lions and rhinos allow you to explore the estate’s greenbelt area on foot, by mountain bike or on horseback. The green belt has clearly marked walking and bicycle trails and three dams with bird hides for enthusiasts. You can use your own vehicle on game viewing drives through the green belt using designated roads.
All access roads from the gate are tarred. Roads in the green belt are well kept dirt roads. Main entrance to the estate is through the town of Hoedspruit, with the shops available within walking distance from our gates.

How to get there
From Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport:
Exit Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport and head west.
Take the first exit at the roundabout onto KMIA Road and continue for 1.8 km.
At the next roundabout, take the second exit onto the R538 and continue for 3 km.
Turn left to stay on the R538 and continue for 230 m.
Turn right to stay on the R538 and continue for 4.3 km.
Turn left onto the R538 and continue for 1.7 km.
At the roundabout, take the fourth exit onto the R40 and continue for 41.1 km.
Turn left to stay on the R40 and continue for 73.6 km.
Turn right onto Klaserie Road/R40 and continue for 23.3 km.
You'll pass a Pick 'n Pay center on your righthand side.
Turn right onto Rotsvy Road and continue straight until you reach the security gate entrance of the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate.

* Gate access codes are supplied to guests on the day of check in and the host will greet guests upon arrival.
* The rules of our estate management need to be followed, but are basic common sense for anyone staying on an estate. The wild animals have free roam in the estate and are given right of way everywhere. Always keep a respectful distance to even the cutest baby giraffe, as his momma might not appreciate close contact. Stick to the marked walks and trails and you will see plenty of animals on your outings.
* A large area of our private property is fenced and walled with lush lawn and shade trees, providing a safe area for young children to play, although we still advise supervision as snakes and bugs are not kept out by fencing!
* The lodge is not a party destination. Strictly no loud noise or music permitted.
* Lodge has cleaning staff available weekdays to ensure a more relaxing holiday. Cleaning services over weekends are extra and have to be arranged with your host in good time.
