Located in South Africa's Northern Cape, Tswalu Kalahari Reserve's Motse Camp is a luxury safari escape, carefully designed for couples and families. The camp accommodates a maximum of 18 adults in nine legae or suites, offering an intimate and personalised experience. Indigenous gardens throughout the camp create a haven for antelope and birds, while the waterhole in front of the main guest area attracts a variety of wildlife, providing a captivating experience, particularly during the dry season. The communal guest area includes spacious indoor and outdoor relaxation and dining spaces, and covered verandas lead to two swimming pools and a fire pit for sundowners.
The main lounge features a stone fireplace, a mezzanine library, and a walk-in wine cellar stocked with premium South African wines. An intimate boma offers the perfect setting for barbecue dinners under the stars. Additionally, the Tswalu Spa, Gym, Photographic Studio, and The Gallery boutique add to the overall luxury experience. Accommodation at Motse Camp caters to various preferences, with six legae for couples and three family legae for up to four guests, each featuring en-suite bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers and a freestanding bath. The legae also includes a sitting area with a wood-burning stove, a study area, and a private shaded veranda with a large day bed. Guests can enjoy a gourmet snack pantry, a personalised mini-bar, and a selection of teas.
Situated at the foot of the Korannaberg Mountains, Motse Camp offers sweeping views of the Kalahari, providing the perfect backdrop for a truly immersive safari experience. The Kalahari Desert, stretching across Southern Africa, envelopes a substantial portion of Botswana and Namibia, with the Northern Cape Province showcasing a segment of this vast arid to semi-arid sandy expanse known as the Kalahari Basin.
The Motse Camp not only serves as a gateway to the breathtaking Kalahari Basin but also offers a range of safari activities and wildlife experiences. From private game drives to guided bush walks, meerkat encounters, horseback safaris, and stargazing, guests can immerse themselves in the unique flora and fauna of the Kalahari. The commitment to sustainable tourism is embodied in the Tswalu Kalahari Reserve's mission to provide guests with an inspiring and memorable safari experience while working towards the restoration of the unique and endemic fauna and flora of the Kalahari.
Absolutely love Motse camp. Eerything was exceptional. The service was outstanding and the food and wine choices were perfect. The safari experience is far above any of the other locations we have been to. We will be back!

Tswalu Motse is an exceptional safari located in the Kalahari desert. Our expectations were high, but they were exceeded. It is important to note that Tswalu is a unique experience. The guide was instructed to provide us with a customized experience based on our background, and he delivered. We witnessed a leopard devouring a fresh springbok kill in a tree, stalking cheetahs, amusing meerkats at dawn, and even discovering the incredible pangolin. It was an amazing adventure.

Tswalu Kalahari offers daily scheduled flights from both Johannesburg and Cape Town. The aircraft we use most is a Pilatus PC12, often our very own plane decorated with designs inspired by Bushman rock art. The Pilatus is pressurised and your journey will be in luxury and comfort.
In Johannesburg, you will depart from Fireblade Aviation, and in Cape Town, we use the Signature hangar.
