Accommodation Description
Drakensberg Dream Cottages offers self-catering cottages, each with its own character and capacity. The main house, Drakensberg Dream, sleeps up to 10 guests across multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, with a large open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge areas, and terraces for enjoying views. Seventh Heaven accommodates approximately 8 people, while Cloud Nine is more intimate, comfortably sleeping 4. All cottages have fully equipped kitchens, fireplaces in the larger units, outdoor braai / BBQ facilities, and cozy living spaces. The property spans 42 hectares and combines comfort, space, and privacy, making it suitable for families or groups wishing to disconnect together.
Setting Description
Set deep in the Champagne Valley, the estate lies in the heart of the Central Drakensberg. The landscape features two dams, a waterfall, sweeping views of Champagne Castle, Cathkin Peak and Sterkhorn peaks, as well as Cathkin Valley. Birdlife and occasional game roam the grounds. Guests can explore walking and game/bird-walk trails, enjoy bass fishing, or simply soak up the mountain air and natural surroundings. The cottages are off-grid in many respects, powered in part by solar energy, promoting quiet nights, wide skies overhead, and a sense of escape. The setting is peaceful but not remote-to-access: close enough for exploring surrounding Drakensberg attractions yet far enough to feel private.
