About Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge

Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge is found in one of Africa's oldest game reserves in South Africa – the Hluhluwe iMofolozi Park, situated in the scenic province of KwaZulu Natal. Rhino Ridge was the first luxury safari lodge to be established within this world-renowned Big 5 game reserve, home to a thriving population of wildlife and almost half of the bird species in the entire Southern Hemisphere.

Built on a ridge overlooking a waterhole, Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge sleeps a maximum of 36 guests in four different room types, each placed along a walkway seamlessly blending along a cliff edge and offering magnificent views over the game reserve and down onto a busy waterhole. With two Honeymoon Villas, eight Luxury Bush Villas, four luxury Safari Rooms and two Safari Family Suites, there is a space suited to every traveller.

Frequently asked questions

Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge impact highlights

Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge is proudly associated with Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park, also known as the "home of the rhino" where it was instrumental in bringing the white rhino population in Southern Africa back from the brink of extinction. The lodge is situated on land belonging to the local Mpembeni Community which has been incorporated into the Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park; a joint venture between the community, park and a private company creating much needed employment and generating revenue for conservation through park fees and levies.
