Guests can embark on the intrepid journey from Sentinel Car Park, up the Chain Ladders to the escarpment, and on to Tugela Falls and the source of the Tugela River
The Drakensberg boasts some of the best wild camping spots within South Africa, offering amazing views. With an unpredictable climate and an assortment of rugged terrain and different graded peaks, the Drakensberg is a haven for serious mountaineers. The region is home to around 300 recorded bird species, including the threatened Bearded Vulture and Lesser Kestrel, making it a fantastic choice for birdwatching enthusiasts.

Travel to Harrismith on the N3 Jhb Dbn
Travel through Harrismith on the N5 towards Bethlehem
Approx 2km out of Harrismith turn left to Phuthaditjaba, Golden Gate, Clarens (R712)
Continue straight for approx 40km towards Golden Gate/Clarens
Pass the turn to the R74 in the direction of Bergville, Durban
After approx 40km take the Phuthaditjaba turnoff. Once you turn off towards Phuthaditjaba continue straight on this road through numerous 4 way stops and intersections for about 25km...
Stay on this road...it becomes a paved road...it takes you directly up to the lodge
