The River Cabins at Zwakala offer five stylish self-catering units set right by the water’s edge on the family-run farm. Each cabin is crafted from natural timber with large windows framing uninterrupted views of the river and forested surrounds, delivering a calming retreat in nature. Four of the cabins are designed for two guests and one is a four-sleeper suited to small families or friends travelling together. All units include a fully equipped kitchen, indoor fireplace, outdoor bath beneath the stars, private braai area and a spacious wrap-around deck for morning coffee or sundowner moments. Setting Description

Perched high in the Magoebaskloof Mountains, Zwakala River Retreat is located on a working family farm through which the clear, quiet river flows. The cabins are nestled steps away from the riverbank and accessible walking trails wind through lush indigenous forest and blue-gum stands. The area surrounding Cheerio Road offers plenty for nature lovers: crystal-clear river pools for dipping, birdlife to observe, sunrise mist draping the hills and the distant hum of a waterfall. These cabins are far enough to feel remote yet close enough to walk back for a craft beer at the on-site brewery or a browse at the farm-venue market. At dusk the fireplace and outdoor bath invite you to stay a little longer and savour the alpine atmosphere.
