Accommodation Description
Buffalo Ridge Safari Lodge is a community-owned luxury lodge perched on the Tweedepoort Ridge in the western sector of the malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve. Wholly owned by the Balete Ba Lekgophung community, the lodge offers an authentic and enriching safari experience that directly benefits the local people.
The lodge features eight thatched, free-standing chalets, each designed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding bushveld. These spacious suites are adorned with earthy tones and natural textures, creating a harmonious connection with nature. Each chalet includes a king-size bed, en-suite bathroom with an indoor shower, and sliding doors that open onto a private viewing deck, offering expansive views of the reserve. The main lodge is accessed via a wooden bridge crossing a ravine and is set on two tiers, providing various communal spaces including a lounge, dining area, and swimming pool. Guests can relax on the viewing deck, shaded by rock fig trees or enjoy a meal in the open-air boma under the stars.
