About Motswiri Private Safari Lodge

Situated on the western side of the 75,000-hectare, Big Five, and malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve in the North West Province, Motswiri Private Safari Lodge is an exclusive bush retreat. As its name suggests, Motswiri Private Safari Lodge offers guests a personal bush experience. The lodge provides some of the best views in Madikwe, along with the tranquil feeling given by the mature trees (mostly Leadwoods) under which the lodge’s main building, five luxury bush villas, and the Luxury Family Villa are located.

The main lodge, elegantly designed and furnished, features distinct lounge, dining, and lounge bar spaces, each complemented by a cosy fireplace for the winter months. Experience the charm of the lodge's central area with a refreshing rim-flow pool that overlooks an active waterhole, relax on the main deck under the shade of Motswiri trees (Leadwood in Tswana), sipping cocktails, or spend your day in the outdoor lounge and bar section. Delight in fine cuisine served in the dining room, beneath the shelter of Leadwood trees, or around a warm fire in the boma.

Motswiri Private Safari Lodge Setting

Under the management of the North West Parks and Tourism Board (NWPTB), previously known as the Bophuthatswana National Parks, Madikwe Game Reserve in South Africa exemplifies a globally acclaimed conservation organisation. Known for its groundbreaking people-centric approach to wildlife conservation, the NWPTB has been practicing this methodology since the late 1970s.

Knowledgeable rangers conduct two daily game drives/safaris, sharing their superb bush expertise in a manner tailored to the guests' understanding, all within the specially designed land cruiser game-viewing vehicle. Covering the entire 75,000 hectares of the renowned Madikwe Game Reserve, guests will be able to witness a wide range of game, marvel at stunning birdlife, and enjoy regular sightings of the highly sought-after "Big 5" – Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo, Black, and White Rhino.

Exceptional

Wonderful location, Madikwe is magical. Really helpful staff who were welcoming, friendly, and went the extra mile at every turn. Beautiful rustic chalets (with very firm beds, a bit too firm for us but maybe not for you!) Great food cooked and served with care. Really engaging game drive rangers, we enjoyed spending three days (six drives) with Barry. Extremely relaxing atmosphere. Good value for money!!
