Accommodation Description

Five distinctive self‑catering units offer a range of group sizes and restful escapes just outside Dullstroom. The Lodge is a generous 5-bedroom retreat for up to 10 guests, with a lounge and fireplace, upstairs bar, pool table, darts, and a sprawling veranda with braai facilities. Eagle’s Crest and Cormorant Cove each sleep six, with loft extensions for eight, featuring open-plan living, fireplaces and views over Meike’s Mere, plus braai areas. The Nest is a cosy one-bedroom, pet‑friendly cottage for two, with an ensuite bathroom, fireplace, sleeper couch, and a veranda for outdoor dining. The Farmstead, a restored original homestead, accommodates six in three bedrooms and offers a lounge, fireplace, TV, and valley views from a shaded veranda. Each unit includes a fully equipped kitchen, quality linen, and fireplace. High-clearance vehicles are recommended for accessing the dirt road leading to the farm.

Setting Description

Field and Stream is set within Mpumalanga’s highland grasslands, just 2.5 hours from Johannesburg and well-situated en route to the Kruger National Park. The property spans across gently rolling hills with trout dams, waterfalls, and a river ideal for fly-fishing and walking. Guests can explore marked trails, enjoy mountain biking, or take part in clay pigeon shooting. Birdlife is abundant, and clear night skies enhance the peaceful setting. The conference and entertainment facilities make it a great option for group getaways and retreats. Just a short drive away, the charming village of Dullstroom offers a mix of country eateries, whiskey tastings, breweries, and cultural attractions. The weather is characterful and often cool—ideal for evenings by the fire and misty morning walks.
