Komati Gorge Lodge is situated on an expansive 2500-hectare wildlife and flyfishing reserve in the heart of Mpumalanga, just three hours from Johannesburg. Surrounded by a winding river, majestic cliffs, imposing krantzes and rolling hills, Komati Gorge Lodge offers an unparalleled experience to outdoor lovers. Whether your interest is fishing, bird-watching, wildlife, boating, walking or just relaxing in a beautiful, tranquil setting, you’ll be in your element.
The lodge is host to a selection of individually decorated rooms, suites and cottages serviced daily, all of which are thatch-roofed and equipped with everything needed for a fuss-free stay.
Guests can enjoy on-site spa treatments, and sundowners or delicious meals overlooking the Komati River at the lovely restaurant and bar.
From the towering red rock faces, abundant aloe plants and wildlife that roam the reserve, Komati Gorge Lodge is surrounded by the raw beauty of the Mpumalanga province in northern South Africa. Wherever you look, you will see breathtaking scenes of natural beauty. Mysterious gorges, dense forests, cascading water, indigenous trees, flora, and creatures of all kinds – from brightly coloured butterflies to stately kudus.
Komati Gorge Lodge has over 10 outdoor activities for your entertainment, including horse riding, rock climbing and 4X4 game drives to name a few. There are quite a few designated spots for fly fishing along this stretch of the river and, chances are good, you will catch a nice big trout or yellowfish during your stay.

Superb!
As a regular visitor to Komati Gorge it was once again a marvellous experience with dedicated hosts who are passionate about their environment and workplace. The trails are well-kept and clear and the accommodation was superb. Ross and Sandy, thanks for a great stay and lovely food. We will certainly come again!
