Delightful time
This is about our fifth time at Mziki and it is as awesome as ever. Love the new renovations and our room was lovely. On our game drives, Khosi was a superb guide, very thoughtful, knowledgeable and just a delight to spend time with.

absolutely fantastic place to stay
Mziki Lodge is an absolutely fantastic place to stay. This was our first time at a South African lodge, and it couldn’t have been a better start to our vacation. The lodge is intimate, with only a handful of rooms, making it perfect for those looking to avoid crowded, tourist-heavy spots.

From Johannesburg: Use the R511 to Brits or R512 via Lanseria airport, then link up with R511and drive straight through Brits and continue towards Thabazimbi on R511. After 40 min. outside of Brits turn left towards Beestekraal, Vaalkop Dam. At the Tjuntion turn left, follow the Mziki signs. The road makes a slight right bend, follow for about 3km (with potholes) until you see the brown Mziki sign on the right. Follow the sand road at the base of a water reservoir ''Mziki Safari Lodge'' sign for 1.5 Km until you reach our south gate. Call the Lodge for remote gate opening. Set on 6000ha of prime malaria-free bushveld, Mziki Private Game Reserve is home to four of the “Big Five, and over 50 species of mammals and 372 species of birds, making it one of the best birding areas in South Africa.
The lodge is a family-friendly destination that caters for children with a variety of engaging activities. One of the highlights is the mini ranger courses, where kids can participate in hands-on learning experiences about wildlife, conservation, and bush skills. The lodge also offesr thrilling game-viewing activities that allow families to embark on exciting game drives together. Additionally, there is a dedicated playground where children can have fun and interact with other young guests in a safe environment.
The access road to Mziki Safari Lodge is easily passable without a 4×4 vehicle. There is a 1.2km stretch of gravel road to the south gate, with two bends that may be a bit rockier. From the gate, there is another 1.5km of a well-maintained sand road leading directly to the lodge. Rest assured, a normal car can comfortably navigate this route, although there may be a few potholes on the tar road.
The rate is all-inclusive. Included is a welcome drink; accommodation; All meals - Breakfast, lunch and dinner; Two activities (Game drive, bush walk or barge cruise); Conference bookings: replace one activity for the use of meeting room and 2 tea-coffee breaks
