Stayed at: Kameeldoring Tented Chalets
What a gem!
We stayed over for one night travelling from EC to Namibia. We stayed in a tented chalet at the main campsite on the banks of the Orange River. Very comfortable chalets, comfy beds, spotlessly clean. Our chalet had a camp kitchen with appliances and everything we could need. My husband even caught a yellowish. Would absolutely stay here again.

Loved it
Feather duvets and pillows. Squeaky clean and neat. Well-stocked kitchenette. Aircon in the rooms. Beautifully manicured lawns. Big bathroom with large cupboards. It is comfortable enough for a family to stay a week. The camp is also situated very close to the Augrabies Falls National Park. Dog friendly.
Kameeldoring Tented Chalets offer a scenic self-catering retreat on the banks of the Orange River in the heart of the Northern Cape. Designed for those who appreciate both comfort and the great outdoors, these chalets provide a unique ‘glamping’ experience - combining the rustic charm of nature with modern amenities. Whether you're seeking a peaceful escape, an adventurous getaway, or a memorable family holiday, Kameeldoring is the perfect destination to unwind and reconnect with nature.
Each air-conditioned chalet is thoughtfully designed for comfort and is fully equipped with everything you need for a hassle-free stay, including plush bedding, essential kitchen utensils, an induction stovetop, microwave, and an en-suite bathroom with a gas geyser for warm showers. A fridge-freezer and kettle provide additional convenience, while private braai (barbecue) facilities allow guests to enjoy al fresco dining under the vast African sky. Two comfortable camping chairs are also provided, so you can sit back and take in the tranquil surroundings.
Located within the lush Kameeldoring Camping grounds just 1k from Augrabies Falls, the chalets offer direct access to the Orange River, providing stunning views and a serene natural environment. The site is shaded by beautiful kameeldoring trees, offering a cool and peaceful retreat amidst the arid beauty of the Northern Cape landscape. The well-maintained grassy areas surrounding the chalets create a sense of openness, inviting guests to relax, breathe in the fresh air, and soak up the tranquil atmosphere.
Beyond the immediate comforts of the chalets, Kameeldoring Camping offers a variety of activities to enhance your stay.
