Each unit is equipped with essential amenities, including kitchens or kitchenettes, private bathrooms, and outdoor braai areas. Some cottages feature fireplaces and verandas with views across the plains and escarpments. Electricity is available in most units, excluding the base camps. Guests are encouraged to minimize vehicle use and explore the reserve on foot, embracing the natural surroundings.

Setting Description

Located approximately 25 km northwest of Bela-Bela and 25 km west of Modimolle, Bateleur Nature Reserve spans diverse landscapes of rocky hills, open savannahs, and clear rock pools. The reserve is renowned for its accredited Stamvrug Hiking Trails, comprising eight routes suitable for various fitness levels. Wildlife such as giraffe, zebra, eland, and numerous bird species can be observed throughout the area.

The reserve emphasizes a back-to-basics experience, without entertainment facilities or loud music, allowing guests to connect with the environment. Nearby attractions include the Nylsvley Bird Sanctuary, Warmbaths Aventura Hot Springs, and various game reserves offering activities like elephant rides and ziplining.
