Thaba eNtle is a scenic private game farm situated in the heart of the bushveld near Thabazimbi in the Waterberg, just a little over a three-hour drive from Johannesburg and two and a half hours from Pretoria. Driven by a profound passion for the bushveld, the owners, the Nels, initially bought the farm for their family use, but over time, it evolved into a distinctive bush experience that they enthusiastically decided to share with the wider public.
Each of the unique self-catering accommodation options has been strategically spaced out across the farm to provide an exclusive and completely private experience. The Pods are positioned atop the mountain that guests will get transferred to, while The Shack, The Lodge, and The Log Cabin are accessible via guest's cars – particularly if they have a 4X4 vehicle. Varying in size and unique charm, the lodgings at Thaba eNtle make for an unforgettable nature escape with family and friends.
The Waterberg Region in northern South Africa is a mountainous and biodiverse area known for its many wilderness safari camps, Big 5 private reserves, conservation parks and excellent birding opportunities. What’s more, it’s a favourite among travellers seeking a malaria-free safari getaway that’s not too far from major cities such as Johannesburg, Pretoria, Polokwane, and Gaborone (Botswana).
Guests at Thaba eNtle can enjoy guided game-viewing excursions upon request, partake in the serene walking trails and cycling routes, and witness an array of exotic game, such as rare sable and roam antelope. Whether you are enjoying a good book at the poolside, observing the wildlife, or spending quality time with family or friends, Thaba eNtle offers minimalist, yet sophisticated bush living to leave you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.
We enjoyed the stunning views and all the space and privacy for ourselves
