Annex at Pippins is a private one-bedroom garden apartment adjoining the main homestead, perfect for couples seeking a peaceful retreat. The en-suite bedroom features a king-size bed and another separate guest bathroom. An open-plan living area includes a fully equipped kitchen with gas stove, electric oven, microwave, fridge-freezer and tea/coffee facilities. The lounge is comprises a cosy wood‑burning fireplace. The space is powered by a solar inverter system, ensuring uninterrupted electricity during load‑shedding, and includes complimentary Wi‑Fi. Outside, guests enjoy a private patio, lush garden, Weber braai and a splash/plunge pool - ideal for warm summer days and starlit evenings.

Set in the cool‑climate fruit and wine region of Elgin, this garden suite is situated on a working apple orchard and vineyard with views of distant mountains. The property is located just over an hour’s drive from Cape Town International Airport, offering seclusion while staying within reach of boutique wine estates, the Elgin Railway Market, and cycling and hiking trails. Explore nearby reserves such as Mt Hebron and Howhoek, or simply stroll through the mature garden, home to walnut, macadamia, olive, fig and sweet thorn. The property features a beautiful pond inspired by Lady Anne Barnard’s Bath at Kirstenbosch and a wooden bench beneath a centuries‑old pin oak for peaceful relaxation. Guests visiting during harvest season may even participate in gathering fresh produce from the garden. With four-seasons weather, the Annex provides electric blankets and a portable heater to maintain comfort year‑round.

How to get there

1. On Google Maps, navigate to ‘Tree Tops Annex’ https://maps.app.goo.gl/mcXmQXHrXXU9gMwt6?g_st=ic 2. Directions: From the N2, turn into Viljoenshoop Road. After 3.9km look for Valley Green on the left and lots of signs on the right. Turn right. Follow the little road past some dams and turn left at “Tree Tops” sign. Note: don’t turn into the gravel road marked “Aanhouwen”. Our entrance is immediately after that and is a tar road.
