Ceres Hideaways comprises a self‑catering cottage, designed to immerse guests in the rugged beauty of the Ceres Valley. The Olive House cottage is a converted farmhouse that boasts a three‑bedroom retreat with a fully equipped kitchen, cosy indoor fireplace, private bathroom with bath, and spacious living area and outdoor braai. Thoughtfully furnished to combine comfort and countryside charm, the cottage accommodates friends or family with ease. The Olive House offers a versatile hideaway ideal for both intimate escapes and family gatherings of up to 6 guests, all within a single scenic setting.
Set on a working farmland in the foothills of the Hex River and Witzenberg ranges, Ceres Hideaways is framed by vineyards, almond orchards and the lofty peak of Matroosberg. The property is dotted with indigenous trees and manicured gardens that guide you to inviting fire pits or the communal outdoor fireplace, perfect for dusk gatherings. Nearby rivers and dams offer trout fishing and canoeing, while miles of hiking and mountain biking trails beckon nature lovers. The region’s dramatic climate, snow‑tipped peaks in winter, blossoming orchards in spring, and warm summer days—ensure a year‑round appeal. Ceres town, 15 minutes away, provides charming cafés, local produce markets, and museums, adding cultural depth to your stay.

From Cape Town International Airport:
To Olive House Ceres
1. Exit the airport onto the N2, then quickly merge onto the N1 northbound toward Paarl/Wellington.
2. After 40 km, take the offramp onto the R44 toward Wellington.
3. Cross the 4way stop in Wellington and soon after, turn left onto R46, heading through Tulbagh.
4. Follow the R46 through Michell’s Pass all the way to Ceres.
5. On the R46 outside Ceres, towards Touwsriver, turn right at the Ezelfontein Road.
Continue 7.4 km (past Loxtonia Cider) to the Vergenoeg farm/ Klein Avontuur turnoff
to the right. Turn right here.
6. Travel 1.6 km down the dirt road (past Klein Avontuur Guest House) ,
at the T Junction, turn left, Drive to the white office building.
7. Once turned left at the T junction, you'll drive in to Vergenoegd Farm.
You'll see white office building in front of you / on the left side, depending what orientation you have.
8. Please collect keys from Bianca in the farm office Mon to Friday's before 4pm, or from the lockbox after these hours or if she's not there use code 5796.
9. Go around the right hand side of the office and continue straight, office on left now, with the pin oak tree lane on one side and pear orchard on the other side. Laborers farm cottages on your left.
10. A large green water tank in the middle of your route, go around it on the right or left of it.

You'll go down the small little hill and over a small bridge, and you'll see your white house on the left up ahead.
11. Remote on your keys has a red button as panic and the other button switches alarm on and off.
Directions to AppleCamp Ceres:
1. Have Apple_Camp Ceres on GPS from Ceres for assistance, but they only are correct til you get to the dirt road .
2. On the R46 outside Ceres, towards Prince Alfred Hamlet, turn right at the Loxtonia Cider sign
3. Continue 7.4 km to our Klein Avontuur/Vergenoeg turnoff to the right.
Landmarks : On this 7.4km route, you will go past the Loxtonia Cider turnoff, and the next marked right turnoff, marked Klein Avontuur/ Vergenoeg farm, is us. Turn off the tar to the right here. This is your first turn off the Ezelfontein tar road.
4. Travel 1.6 km down the dirt road (past Klein Avontuur Guest House) ,at the T Junction, turn left.
5. The following instructions apply once you've reached the office building.
6. Lockbox is on the wall at the office, near pole1. See the image. Between the window and the door on the wall. Code 0265. Scramble code after retrieval of keys please/
7. From the office, please follow the numbered boards with accompaying arrows. Numbered 19, to reach the campsite.
8. Any orchard spraying done on the property is non hazardous and no precautions need to be taken.
9. Spraying does have to happen when conditions are suitable and this could be at night or early morning.
10. Eskompush is Ceres Witzenberg (13). Please keep to the 20 km p/h speed limit on the farm, the dust is very damaging to the developing fruit.
11. Gas bottle is inside the amenity cubicle and is to be connected upon checkin for hot water. Enjoy your stay.
12. Guide : poles all of the left side of the guest.
Pole 1 go straight for 100m
Pole 2 turn right and go for 400m
Pole 3 turn left, go for 300m.
Pole 4 turn right, go for 150m

Drive past pole 6, and go for another 100m
Pole 7 turn left, go for 100m
Pole 8 turn right, go for 20m
