Accommodation Description

Clementine Cottage is an exclusive-use, double-storey lakehouse set on a working flower and fruit farm near Citrusdal, sleeping up to eight guests in comfort. The four-bedroom home includes three king/queen bedrooms and two single beds, served by two bathrooms – one with bath, shower and toilet, and a second with shower and toilet.

An airy open-plan living area with air conditioning leads onto a generous deck overlooking the dam. The fully equipped kitchen features gas and electric stove, oven, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, coffee machine and all the essentials for easy self-catering, plus access to a washing machine. The lounge offers comfortable seating and a smart TV with streaming and free Wi-Fi. Outside, guests enjoy a private braai area, garden and outdoor dining on the balcony and patio right above the water, along with secure on-site parking.

Setting Description

Set on Jansekraal Farm near Citrusdal in the Cederberg Mountains of the Western Cape, the cottage sits right on the edge of a peaceful farm dam, surrounded by citrus orchards, tea fields and mountain views. It’s a private, safe spot to slow down, swim in the dam, or cast a line for bass from the lawn.

The farm offers plenty of space for walking, hiking and mountain biking along quiet tracks through orchards and fynbos. Nearby, the rooibos and citrus country around the Piekenierskloof Mountains is known for tea tastings, farm stalls and wine at Piekenierskloof wineries. The renowned The Baths Natural Hot Springs are an easy outing, while day trips deeper into the Cederberg bring sandstone peaks, rock art and superb hiking. All of this lies around a two-hour drive from Cape Town, making Clementine Cottage an appealing “Escape from Cape Town” without a long journey.
