  • So hard to leave this place

This is our second year coming here and every-time we come it just gets better. We have decided to make this our yearly vacation. It is so peaceful, beautiful and homely. It is so hard to leave. Everything you need to just relax and have a good time is here. Friendly people, dogs and we love seeing the farm animals daily. We'll be back next year.

  • Perfect Nature Getaway

No barefooted, frog holding, mud pie baking, cloud spotting, puddle stomping, bird calling, wild foraging, moon gazing, firefly chasing, fort building, creek following, rock hunting moment with Mother Nature is ever wasted.

  • Can't wait to return!

Wow!!! What a beautiful experience! We are so privileged to have stayed in Sam's Place, as well as in Firefly - each so unique, warm and welcoming. Enjoyed the wonderful activities, the majestic waterfall, kayaking with the mountain view and stargazing in the hot tub. Everything was absolutely perfect....we can't wait to visit again.

Frog Mountain Getaway impact highlights

Frog Mountain Getaway stands out as a catalyst for positive change in the local ecosystem. Committed to environmental sustainability, regenerative farming, and an eco-friendly ethos, Frog Mountain Farm has implemented various initiatives that showcase a dedication to the well-being of the land it inhabits. The farm's ambitious plans encompass waste management through recycling and composting, regenerative soil building using Nguni cattle, and the cultivation of organic produce for the family at this stage. The commitment to self-sustainability is reflected in their recycling and composting project, where organic waste is fermented and turned into nutrient-rich compost using the innovative Bokashi process. Guests are actively involved, collecting recyclables that are then responsibly sorted and utilized by a local recycling entity, thus contributing to the support of nearby businesses. Frog Mountain Getaway's unwavering dedication to indigenous biodiversity conservation and rehabilitation is evident in their extensive invasive alien clearing program, and riverine forest restoration project. The completion of the first phase a few years ago, including the removal of the invasive Black Wattle forest, marked a significant milestone in the farm's commitment to restoring the indigenous riverine corridor. Continued alien management and indigenous planting are continually underway. Additionally, their use of 100% biodegradable and Earth-friendly products, from soaps to detergents, underscores a holistic approach to sustainability. Frog Mountain Getaway is not merely a destination but a model for fostering community development, inspiring learning, and serving as a sanctuary for families to immerse themselves in nature in a place that “has it all while preserving the pristine beauty of the natural surroundings. Visitors are invited to recharge, relax, and connect in this haven of green tranquillity, symbolizing a harmonious blend of human life and ecological stewardship.
