A tuly special place
So close to Cape Town but feels like a different world, nestled in nature and far from the crowds. The villa blends into the landscape and offers incredible views of the surrounding mountain top and sea below. We went on a number of easy hikes around the area, exploring the peaks and enjoying the birds-eye views below. The misty moods of the valley were fascinating to watch, changing completely in an instant.

From the airport, follow the N2 highway towards Cape Town before taking the M3 south, which winds through leafy suburbs and along the base of Table Mountain. Continue to Steenberg Road and take Ou Kaapse Weg, a mountain pass that offers panoramic views of the Cape Peninsula. As you descend into the valley, join Kommetjie Road (M65) and follow the signs for Scarborough and Cape Point. Turn onto Redhill Road and follow it towards the Baskloof Fynbos Nature Reserve’s entrance, which lies just beyond the village of Scarborough. Drive past the Baskloof Nature Reserve’s entrance, and turn left into the driveway of Kilfinan Farm. At the “No Dogs Allowed” sign, you will see a “farm style” gate with a chain wrapped around (it is not locked). Once you have unchained and opened the gate, passed through and closed it again, proceed straight along the dirt road up the mountain until you reach our Villa.
