Soul-Refreshing Experience
Karee Kloof offers a complete reset for the soul. The rustic farm cottage, stunning nature, and fresh farm bread made our stay exceptional. We'll definitely return!
Karee Kloof Conservancy offers a peaceful escape within a 5,000-hectare private reserve, established in 1998 with the goal of restoring natural vegetation and promoting biodiversity. Located around 220km from Cape Town, the property is accessible via a scenic drive and a short stretch of gravel road. Accommodation consists of well-appointed farm-style cottages, each offering a simple yet stylish blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. Guests can enjoy full kitchens, wood-burning fireplaces, private patios, and in some units, wood-fired hot tubs. This self-catering retreat is ideal for couples, families or solo travellers seeking solitude in nature.
Set in the Breede River Valley near the town of Ceres, Karee Kloof Conservancy is surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery, rocky outcrops, and open veldt. The conservancy boasts over 80 species of birds, from Cape Sugarbirds to the Orange-breasted Sunbird, and is home to indigenous wildlife including rhebok, klipspringer, mongoose, and even the elusive leopard. The area’s diverse ecology is ideal for walking, birding, and exploring unique rock formations and San rock art. With no city lights to interfere, the stargazing here is phenomenal – the perfect backdrop for a peaceful evening in nature.
