Accommodation Description

Karoo Lavender is a self-catering property on a farm just outside Oudtshoorn, comprising two semi-detached apartments positioned side by side — ideal for families, friends, or two couples travelling together. Each apartment sleeps up to four guests (with a sofa bed available for a fifth and sixth), featuring a king-size bedroom, a bunk-bed room, and a private en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower. The open-plan kitchen is fully equipped with a gas stove, oven, fridge, air fryer, and all the crockery and cutlery you need. A comfortable living area with flat-screen TV flows out to a private patio with braai facilities and outdoor dining furniture. Air conditioning keeps things cool in summer and adds another reason to linger. Free Wi-Fi and secure parking complete a very practical package — all set against the backdrop of organically grown lavender right outside your door.

Setting Description

Roughly ten minutes from Oudtshoorn town centre, Karoo Lavender occupies a working farm along Roodeheuwel Street, with the Kammanassie River on one side and the dramatic Swartberg Mountain range framing the horizon. The Little Karoo is rich with things to do: the famous Cango Caves are within easy reach, as are Cango Wildlife Ranch, several ostrich show farms, and the scenic Swartberg Pass — one of the great mountain passes in South Africa. Route 62, with its wine cellars, farm stalls, and local eateries, runs nearby, giving guests the best of both worlds: countryside seclusion and a proper town within easy reach. Whether you're after outdoor adventure or a slow few days with braai smoke and mountain views, the Karoo delivers. Please note: Karoo Lavender is located on a working lavender farm and is situated next to a local farm and Karoo Lusern butchery for all their top quality poultry and pantry products.
